Bacteriological Monitoring Requirements Not Met for

Conservation Endowment Fund

During April through June of 2019

Our water system recently violated a drinking water standard.  Although this is not an emergency, as our customers, you have a right to know what happened, what you should do, and what we did to correct the situation.

We are required to monitor your drinking water for specific contaminants on a regular basis.  Results of regular monitoring are an indicator of whether or not our drinking water meets health standards.  During the 2nd quarter of 2019 we did not meet all monitoring requirements for coliform bacteria and therefore cannot be sure of the quality of our drinking water during that time.

What should I do?

  • You do not need to boil your water or take other corrective actions.

  • The table below lists the contaminant we did not properly test for during the September 2019, how many samples we are required to take and how often, how many samples we took, when samples should have been taken, and the date on which follow-up samples will be taken.

Contaminant: Coliform Bacteria

Required sampling frequency: One Sample Per Quarter

Number of samples taken: None

When all samples should have been taken: April-June 2019

When samples will be taken: July 30, 2019

  • If you have health issues concerning the consumption of this water, you may wish to consult your doctor.

  • What happened? Conservation Endowment Fund did not take a bacteria sample within the window for the 2nd quarter of the 2019 year.

  • Describe corrective action: Conservation Endowment Fund will collect and send a bacteria sample to Capco Labs in Ventura, CA on July 30, 2019, and will sample bacteria quarterly thereafter.
