This workshop will be facilitated by Atava Garcia Swiecicki, herbalist, curanderx and author of The Curanderx Toolkit: Reclaiming Ancestral Latinx Plant Medicine and Rituals for Healing. This class will be an introduction to curanderismo, the traditional healing of Mexico and other Latinx countries. Atava will share about the history, philosophy and practices of curanderismo, with a focus on herbal medicine knowledge. We will learn about key plants used in curanderismo and also discuss ways to build relationships with plants and connect to our own herbal allies. Class time will include plant meditation and medicine making demonstration.
